Home of the Decade

The Award

To mark the 30th anniversary of Home of the Year, in 2025 we are also awarding a single home the prestigious title of
Home of the Decade.

All winners of Home of the Year between 2015 and 2025 are automatically entered as finalists.

The award is also open to wildcard nominations, and we invite nominations from architects, interior designers, homeowners, builders, photographers, makers, and anyone else who has been inspired by a single home that was designed and built in New Zealand in the last decade.

Nomination Form

You may nominate any home that was designed and built between 2015 and 2025 that you feel presents an enduring and inspiring contribution to New Zealand architecture.

Nominations close at 5pm, Friday, 6 December 2024.

For each project, if you are self-nominating, where possible please include:

  • A maximum of 200 words describing the project
  • A maximum of 12 high-resolution photos, including a variety of interior and exterior aspects with range of perspectives (please send these as individual images rather than a PDF of images for ease of viewing).
  • A floor plan and site plan if available
  • Please ensure that the designer/s and homeowner/s of the nominated project have consented to the home being nominated, and understand and have read the terms and conditions below, specifically including those relating to judging, media coverage and photography/filming

If you are nominating a project that was not designed by you/your firm, please include any relevant you have, including link/s to a URL where the project is documented. If this is not possible, please contact our awards convenor Federico Monsalve at: federico@homemagazine.nz or Clare Chapman at clare.chapman@homemagazine.nz
Please provide the name of the practice that designed the home, or the name of the individual architect if the practice name is no longer applicable.
