The repurposing of a 1970’s office building in central Christchurch into an artist’s studio and apartment. Winner of NZIA Architecture and Colour awards 2021, and the 2021 NZIA New Zealand Architecture Award for Housing – Alterations and Additions. The existing roof was replaced, providing a spacious and light filled apartment. The new steel structure allowed the full width of the top floor to be occupied with increased headroom.
