In celebration of Te Papa’s latest exhibition Rita Angus: New Zealand Modernist, the museum store has stocked its shelves with prints of the iconic artist’s work. In Rutu, Angus depicts herself as part Maori and part European while the lotus flower represents her appreciation of Buddhism; the halo an idealisation of the Virgin Mary.
