In celebration of summer, HOME and 1800 Tequila came together to create four irresistible cocktails – a refreshing take on classic tequila recipes.
From subtle coconut notes, hints of chilli, fruit and pepper to vibrant, sweet combinations, these drinks are best enjoyed poolside or beachfront.

Northern Heat
This deliciously fresh tipple incorporates sweet notes and packs a punch with a touch of chili.
Ingredients:
45ml 1800 Coconut Tequila
20ml fresh pineapple juice
20ml fresh lime juice
10ml agave syrup
4ml Kaitaia Fire chili sauce
Fresh pineapple wedge to garnish
Siracha salt for rim
Method
Chill an old fashioned glass
Rim the glass with lime juice, then siracha salt
Into a cocktail shaker add 1800 Coconut Tequila, pineapple juice, lime juice, agave syrup and Kaitaia Fire
Fill the shaker with ice and shaker gloriously hard for 10 seconds
Add fresh ice to the old fashioned glass
Strain the cocktail into the glass
Garnish with fresh pineapple wedge and siracha salt
Paloma
The origins of this beautifully simple summer cocktail aren’t known, but it is thought it was named after La Paloma, a popular folk song composed in the the late 1800s. Sweet, sour, and a touch fruity, this Paloma is a treat for the tastebuds.
Ingredients:
45ml 1800 Silver Tequila
120ml grapefruit soda
Fresh lime juice & salt for rim
Method:
Chill a highball glass
Rim the glass with lime juice, then salt
Add 45ml 1800 Silver Tequila to the glass
Squeeze the juice of 1/2 a lime into the glass,
keep the husk
Fill the glass with ice
Charge the glass with grapefruit soda,
stir to combine
Garnish with the lime husk
Pina
A lively, fresh infusion combining the zesty twang of lime, sweet pineapple and 1800 Coconut Tequila.
Ingredients:
40ml 1800 Coconut Tequila
40ml pineapple juice
40ml cold earl grey tea
5ml lime juice
Kaffir lime leaf for garnish
Method:
Chill a large wine glass
Into a cocktail shaker add 1800 Coconut Tequila, pineapple juice, earl grey tea & lime juice
Add ice to the shaker, close and shake hard for 7 seconds
Double strain into the chilled wine glass
Garnish with a kaffir lime leaf and enjoy
New Zealand Margarita
Bitter sweet. This fresh take on the classic margarita will delight the senses.
Ingredients:
45ml 1800 Silver Tequila
20ml fresh lime juice
15ml honey syrup
(2 parts honey: 1 part water)
4ml Angostura bitters
2ml saline solution
(10 parts water: 1 part salt)
Method:
Chill a beautiful coupe glass
Into a cocktail shaker add 45ml 1800 Silver Tequila, 20ml fresh lime juice, 15ml honey syrup and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters
Add ice to the shaker and shake it gloriously hard
Double strain into the empty and cold coupe glass
Spritz salt water over the drink
and serve
