Curving colour

Plumbline’s latest collection, Oasis, echoes the visceral narratives presented during Milan Design Week, particularly when it comes to clear strides away from minimalism and an embrace of personalised, joyful design.

The eight matte Oasis colourways.

Oasis is that and much more; it is a collection described by Plumbline product manager Jonathon Hall as one that responds to a “latent demand for a product range that offers cohesion — in form, in colour, and in finish. The vision for Oasis was to curate a complete collection of basins and baths that work together, where shapes and forms are complementary, and each piece is part of a cohesive whole.

“I think what really stands apart with top New Zealand architecture when compared to global residential design, is our focus on homes that have a direct connection to the environment, as opposed to more inward-focused apartment living. Our best homes are beautifully integrated into the landscape, so our approach with Oasis was to develop colours of warmth that complemented our natural environment.” Moving from Chalk White right through to Soft Black, the eight Oasis colourways present a diversity of tone, embracing hues such as Coral Pink, Punga Green, and Lake Blue. “They’re intentionally understated, soft, and enduring.”

Like Plumbline’s ever-evolving Buddy collection, Oasis will continue to expand with this initial offering just the beginning. Next on the agenda, Jonathon tells us, are additions including wall-hung and freestanding basins, and a diversified colour palette.

Also recently released, Buddy Zero and Zero-X is a range of handleless kitchen and bathroom tapware of intuitive control and intricately knurled soft and matte finishes, which take the simplest of forms as inspiration for an innately contemporary yet timeless offering.

As the Plumbline story continues to develop with dynamic, responsive collections, we eagerly await the next immersive additions.
