Architectural laundry design: The future of luxury fabric care

There’s a moment in the Fisher & Paykel Experience Centre in Auckland where the everyday disappears. In its place is something unapologetically refined; it is the architectural expression of its inventive Fabric Care collection: groundbreaking, considered, and designed in New Zealand.

The laundry is reimagined with the luxury of design freedom — shifting it from being relegated to a utility room into a future where daily ritual exists in perfect synergy with the architecture of the spaces around it.

Redefining high-end laundry appliances

Here, in the Boffi Laundry, the future is realised. It’s a space that underscores Fisher & Paykel’s pioneering innovation, turning its gaze here on the laundry, but not as we know it. This is the Science of Fabric Care, a balanced ecosystem of appliances designed not just to simply function, to wash and to dry, but to cherish and preserve, marking a shift from utility to experience, and from chore to care.

At its heart is the Fabric Care collection, a suite that includes Steam Care Washers, Heat Pump Dryers, and the recently released Fabric Care Cabinet, each designed to be gentle, precise, and beautifully integrated. Interconnectivity between appliances introduces sophisticated syncing for intuitive control from one centralised, Wi-Fi-enabled system.

Steam, sanitise, and care for delicates at home

The Fabric Care Cabinet, in particular, is a revelation. It steams, sanitises, deodorises, and dries, so even the most delicate items — silks, tailoring, cashmere, and leather to name a few — can be cared for at home, gently and thoroughly. This is professional-level garment care, integrated in the home as if one part of a larger architectural narrative; the epitome of luxury modern convenience.

The Fabric Care collection pioneers cutting edge advancements in technology with a suite of Wi-Fi-connected appliances including the recently released Fabric Care Cabinet, which reduces reliance on dry cleaning and prolongs the life and integrity of garments, including delicates and special care fabrics.

Luxury laundry design: Boffi x Fisher & Paykel

In the Boffi Laundry, lighting is layered and warm. Textural, handmade tiles catch the eye. Leather-lined trays await a watch or a wallet. It draws you in, slowly revealing a realisation: there is no reason a laundry can’t be as beautiful and emotionally resonant as any other space in the home. In fact, the design freedom offered here means that while a dedicated laundry is still an option, integrating convenient and tailored fabric care into other areas of the home can be particularly impactful — a new kind of domestic choreography. Fabric Care appliances can be incorporated with versatility, in mudrooms, hallways, bathrooms, and walk-in wardrobes — entirely dissolving the boundaries between task and environment.

Exceptionally water and energy-efficient, our Steam Care washers and dryers provide precise fabric care across all fibre types — from delicate silks to performance fabrics.
