Autumnal colour

Celebrating the organic beauty of natural materials, we curated a palette for our back cover that explores autumnal tones and textural depth.

Warm, earthen hues come together to create a grounded, tactile, and inherently natural aesthetic. At the heart of this palette is Resene Sandtex, a textured finish that mimics the hand-worked appeal of Mediterranean plaster or natural sandstone.

Here, we’ve used it to coat a simple timber box, easily transforming it into an object of beauty. We’ve then painted it in Resene Cement to create a subtle weathered surface of depth and movement that shifts beautifully in changing light.

To create a rich, organic contrast, we used Resene Meranti Wood Stain for the driftwood. The stain deepens timber finishes, drawing out the grain and warmth of natural timber.

Layering in warmth, we painted the brick in Resene Chelsea Gem, a spiced, burnished orange that adds a rich depth. Complementing this, we painted foliage in Resene Harvest Gold, a sunlit hue that echoes the tones of dried wheatfields and sunbaked clay, and paired them with Resene Gold Coast, a spirited ochre, on the tabletop.

To complete the palette, we chose Resene Alpaca, a soft, muted neutral with gentle undertones of brown and taupe. Used in interior spaces, these finishes and hues celebrate handcrafted, natural moments, creating spaces that are both timeless and deeply comforting.
