Herbst Architects

Herbst Architects Ltd was established in 2001 and is led by Lance and Nicola Herbst. The 12 person studio is NZIA registered and is focused on making a meaningful contribution to the built environment through excellence in architecture.

The works of the practice have been widely published, both locally and internationally and have been the recipients of a number of awards for architecture, including 34 NZIA awards and the winner of the Home magazine Home of the year in 2012; 2016 and 2018. In 2018 the practice was awarded the Sir Ian Athfied prize for housing. A selection of our works, with links to published articles can be seen on our website.
