Introducing our new hardcover book: Homes of this Decade

Written by Clare Chapman and Federico Monsalve, and photographed by Simon Devitt, Jackie Meiring, Samuel Hartnett, David Straight, and Simon Wilson, Homes of this Decade is a beautiful hardcover book that explores exceptional New Zealand residential architecture of the past ten years. Including the work of New Zealand’s top architects, these are homes that are shaping and defining our local design story.

HOME is proud to announce the release of Homes of this Decade 2015-2025, a definitive new book celebrating a decade of residential architecture in Aotearoa.

Spanning more than 300 pages, Homes of this Decade presents 38 of New Zealand’s most exceptional houses — each carefully selected for its contribution to our contemporary design language. Through intelligent writing and striking photography, the book captures the essence of how architecture has evolved over the past ten years and the ways in which it reflects our shifting lifestyles, landscapes, and aspirations.

“This book is both a retrospective and a celebration,” says Clare Chapman, co-author of the book, and editor of HOME. “Over the past decade, New Zealand architecture has spanned an extraordinary spectrum — from daring urban insertions that reimagine density, to remote dwellings that disappear gently into the landscape. Homes of this Decade distills those defining projects into a single, collectible volume for anyone passionate about architecture, interiors and design.”

Featuring award-winning projects from New Zealand’s leading architects, Homes of this Decade offers thoughtful insight into the ideas and processes shaping residential design in Aotearoa today.
