The Côte d’Opale in the north of France is a magnificent coastline with a relatively unspoiled landscape and unusual, soft light due to its western orientation. The owners of the building opted for Cedral Lap Wood due to its high resilience against the external elements, – which is important when the sea wind hits the coast, especially in winter – but it also gives the building a beach-like feel which allows it to blend into its sea-front surroundings.
