Home of the Decade 2015 — 2025

Distilling a design to its simplest strokes is often much more difficult than working with grandiosity and flair. This E-shaped house uses very few architectural moves and materials, yet it encapsulates a multitude of spatial experiences and large ideas. The alpine tramping hut; the Southern vernacular; a modernised villa roofline; John Scott, Claude Megson and plenty of Ralph Hotere; they all collide to create something entirely unique and all together of this land.

Home of the Decade Finalists

To mark the 30th anniversary of the HOME of the Year Awards, this year we are celebrating a decade of exceptional New Zealand residential architecture.
One home will named the overall winner, and Home of the Decade.
All winners of Home of the Year from 2015 – 2025 were automatically entered as finalists, alongside wildcard nominations.
The winner will be announced at an exclusive awards ceremony in Auckland in late March, and will be featured in the April/May 2025 issue of HOME, and across all channels.
