Christopher Beer Architects

Christopher Beer Architect Limited is an award-winning architectural design studio that delivers carefully crafted and thoughtfully designed buildings. Located in Cambridge, New Zealand, we create considered, physically- and mentally engaging architecture through a critical and thorough design process.

Our studio is directed by Christopher Beer, a registered architect who has worked previously in the studios of a number of well-regarded, award-winning practices; most notably with Fearon Hay Architects, Auckland and as an Associate at William Tozer Associates, London. Christopher is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Architects and is a Registered Architect. He obtained a bachelor’s degree in architecture in 2007 and a diploma in architectural technology in 2002.

As a design practice, we’re interested in projects which intrigue and delight. Creating architecture can be a difficult and daunting task, and we aim to guide our clients deftly and carefully through the process using our knowledge of design and our experience in building. We delight in sharing our design skills with our clients to create objects and buildings which are delightful and spaces which are both calming and exciting. Our goal is that each project reflect our client’s aspirations and enhance their experience of life and living.

We believe successful spaces are those which evoke an emotional and physical response, whether it be to calm or excite, or to encourage social interaction or allow quiet contemplation. We aim to create residential architecture which enhances family living, using space, form, material, texture and proportion to create a place which reflects our clients’ way of living and their aspirations.
